Clamp on ultrasonic BTU heat meter/thermal energy measurement system is developed on the basis of transit-time clamp on flow meters. It supports non-invasive precision measurement for thermal energy transferring during cooling and heating process by water pipeline.
The complete system of ultrasonic BTU meter mainly includes 3 parts:
*Electronic converter
*Clamp on flow transducers on ultrasonic transit-time technology
*Surface-mounted non-invasive PT100/PT1000 probes with high accuracy industrial standard. PT100/PT1000 has a higher accuracy than analog 4-20mA value of temperature sensors.
Our thermal energy measurement system has been developed with our latest technology. It has been carefully considered before initial designing. Thus, the part of thermal energy system has been an organic system of the whole flow/heat meter. This is different from several other providers, they used. Some providers don’t re-design it because it will be complicated and will cause too much more. Instead of it, they just add a temperature module and develop an external energy BTU device. Then, the additional parts usually use 4-20mA to gather temperature signal which can’t get such good performance like PT100/PT1000.
In order for thermal energy measurement, each set of heat/flow meter requires 2 pieces of PT100 resistors or PT1000 resistors. One piece is used for temperature measurement of inlet flow pipe, and the other is to measure temperature of outlet flow pipe, then temperature difference is gained. Based on these value measurement (flow rate and temp. difference), the thermal energy transferred will be calculated accurately. Thus, each pair of PT resistors have been carefully calibrated to ensure temperature different of them must reach a certain of very high accuracy.
